Does anyone else think it is funny that a movie about gay cowboys (Brokeback Mountain) came out the same weekend as a movie that is an allegory for the life of Jesus (Chronicles of Narnia) in the midst of a War on Christmas?  The really ironic thing is there hasn’t been all of the protests that usually come around when this type of thing happens (i.e. the contraversy about Million Dollar Baby.)  I just think this whole church and state thing is getting a little too close for comfort.  Anyway, The Golden Globe nominees were announced today and Brokeback Mountain received the most.  Quite a statement.

More Golden Globe Questions:
Since when are all of the actresses of Desperate Housewives worth a Golden Globe?  I mean the entire cast was nominated. I am pulling for Mary-Louise Parker.

Why is Walk the Line in the musical/comedy category? Johnny Cash’s life was musical, but it wasn’t a comedy.  Discuss.  I just think they ran out of room in the drama category.

Am I the only one who loves that Kung Foo Hustle is nominated for Best Foreign Film?  Good times.

I am a pretty big fan of the Golden Globes because it combines both television and movies.  It always makes for memorable television.  We’ll just have to wait to see how it all pans out.
